1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
About 1/2 loaf Italian Bread, cut into 1-inch chunks
1/4 cups dark seedless raisins
1 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut up
Ground cinnamon
Half-and-half (optional)
About 1 1/4 hours before serving:
Grease 1-quart casserole; set aside
In medium bowl with wire whisk or fork, beat milk, sugar, vanilla, sale, and eggs until well mixed; add bread, raisins, and butter; toss until bread is well coated. Sprinkle mixture lightly with cinnamon. Bake in preheated 350℉ oven 55 to 60 minutes until knife inserted in center of pudding comes out clean. If you like, serve with half-and-half.
